Man Robbed At Gunpoint While Selling PlayStation 4: Hamden Police
The victim had arranged to meet with a buyer in Hamden after agreeing to sell his PlayStation 4 through an online app, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A Branford man was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to sell his PlayStation 4 after making an arrangement through an online app to meet the buyer in Hamden, according to police. At about 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 23, Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Morse Street on the report of an armed street robbery, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a 25-year-old Branford resident attempted to sell his “PlayStation 4” on an “app” and was subsequently contacted by a person that was interested in purchasing the item. An arrangement was made to complete the sale in a parking lot, located in the vicinity of Dixwell Avenue and Morse Street, according to Smith.
The victim was met by two people, described as black males in their 20s with both having a thin build. One of the men took the PlayStation 4 and “walked away laughing” while the other man pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to shoot him, according to Smith. Both suspects ran from the scene, heading eastbound on Morse Street.
