Man Robbed Taxi Driver at Knifepoint: Hamden Police
Police say the arrest was made following an extensive investigation of a 2014 armed robbery.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man has been charged in connection to a 2014 knifepoint robbery of a Metro Taxi cab driver in 2014 following an extensive investigation, according to Hamden Police.
Police responded to Marlboro Street on Dec. 26, 2014 on the report of an armed robbery, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that the operator of the taxi picked up Aaron Johnson on Cedar Street in New Haven and transported him to Marlboro Street in Hamden.

When they arrived on Marlboro Street, Johnson held a knife to the victim’s neck and stole an undisclosed amount of money, according to Smith.
Detective Jomo Crawford conducted an extensive investigation, which lead to the application of an arrest warrant for Johnson.

Johnson was arrested Sept. 20 after appearing at Meriden Superior Court.
Johnson, 41, of Cedar Street in New Haven, was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny. He was arraigned later in the day, according to Smith.
