Man Shot While Sitting In Parked Car: Hamden Police

The victim, who drove himself to the hospital, was shot in the "jaw and neck" area while in a parking lot in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A 37-year-old East Haven resident was shot while sitting inside a parked car early Wednesday morning in Hamden, according to police.

Hamden police were told by New Haven police that a gunshot victim had arrived at Yale-New Haven Hospital around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 14. The victim had been shot in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Arch Street, according to New Haven police.

The victim, who drove himself to the hospital, was shot in the area of his “jaw and neck,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith. The shooting happened while the victim was sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot in the 900 block of Dixwell Avenue.
