Police say the man pushed the woman out of the way while stealing $75 worth of energy drinks from Stop & Shop and faces a robbery charge.

HAMDEN, CT — An East Haven man faces a robbery charge after police say he shoved a store manager while trying to steal nearly $75 worth of energy drinks from Stop & Shop in Hamden. Police responded to Stop & Shop, located at 2335 Dixwell Avenue, on March 30 on the report of a theft, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a man, who was later identified as Michael Girolomoni, left the store with several bottles of energy drinks that were valued at nearly $75. Girolomoni was approached by a store manager as he was placing the stolen items into his vehicle. Girolomoni “yelled” at the store manager and “pushed her out of the way,” according to Smith. He then fled in his vehicle onto Dixwell Avenue.
Officer Kelley Cushman conducted the investigation, which led to an arrest warrant for Girolomoni.
