Man ‘Sliced’ With Knife During Domestic Dispute, Both Get Arrested: Hamden Police
Police said the woman threw the knife into a nearby wooded area and it was located by K-9 Blaze on a steep embankment.

HAMDEN, CT — Two people were arrested after an argument turned physical and the woman is accused of assaulting the man with a knife, according to police. The arrests stem from a domestic dispute at a Town Walk Drive residence on April 11, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said officers arrived at the residence at about 9:15 a.m. and investigation revealed that Shakeya King and Dante Barnes were engaged in an argument.
“The incident escalated into a physical altercation, at which time King ‘sliced’ Barnes with a knife,” Smith said in a news release. “Barnes suffered a shoulder injury. King threw the knife into a nearby wooded area.”

Officer William May and his K-9 partner Blaze subsequently searched the wooded area and Blaze located the knife on a steep embankment, according to Smith.
King, 29, of Town Walk Drive in Hamden, was arrested on charges of second-degree assault and breach of peace. She was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 27, according to state judicial records.

Barnes, 28, of Harbor Drive in Stamford, was charged with disorderly conduct. Barnes, who was released at the scene on a written promise to appear, is also due in court on April 27.
