Man Stole Employee’s Purse, Used Credit Cards: Hamden Police

Police are asking for help with identifying the suspect.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man accused of stealing an employee’s purse at a business in Hamden and using multiple credit cards and nearby businesses. Police said the theft occurred when the suspect entered a fifth-floor suite at a business at 2321 Whitney Avenue and stole an employee’s purse, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the purse contained various items, including multiple credit cards that were used at nearby businesses. The man is accused of charging about $170 worth of stolen merchandise.

Police described the suspect as a black male about 40 to 50 years old who was wearing glasses and boots.
