Man Stole ‘Price Tagging Gun’ From Clothing Store: Hamden Police

Police are asking for help identifying a suspect, who they say also stole a magnet used to remove security tags from high-priced items.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a suspect in connection to a theft from a clothing store in Hamden. On May 29, Hamden Police responded to Plato’s Closet, located at 2335 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of a larceny, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that an individual, described as a black male with short hair, wearing a black V-neck tee shirt distracted the store clerk and stole a “price tagging gun” and a “security magnet.” The security magnet is used to remove security tags from high-priced items, according to Smith.
