Man Unloads Firearm, Bullet Goes Into Downstairs Neighbor’s Bedroom: Hamden Police
The man faces charges after his downstairs neighbor found a bullet hole in her ceiling and a bullet near her bed, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man faces charges after police say a bullet was discharged while he was unloading his firearm and it went through the bedroom ceiling of his downstairs neighbor at an apartment complex.
Hamden Police responded to an apartment complex in the 600 block of Mix Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 on the report of suspicious activity.
The caller told police that she observed a bullet hole in the ceiling of her bedroom and found a bullet near her bed, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that Brian Rago, who resides in the apartment directly upstairs, discharged his firearm while unloading it. The bullet damaged a table before entering the woman’s ceiling, according to Smith.
Rago, 25, of Mix Avenue, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Rago is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 9.
