Masked Gunman Robs Store In Hamden: Police

HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating after a masked man robbed the Hamden Variety Store at gunpoint on Wednesday night. Hamden Police responded to the store, located at 1555 Dixwell Avenue, at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 on the report of an armed robbery, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that an individual, described as a black male with a thin build, wearing dark clothing and a black mask entered the store armed with a handgun. He subsequently stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen fleeing southbound on Dixwell Avenue, according to Smith.
