Masked Man Robs Store At Gunpoint: Hamden Police

Police are investigating the armed robbery, which occurred Thursday night in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating after a masked man robbed Family Dollar, located at 1245 Dixwell Avenue, at gunpoint on Thursday night. The robbery occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said that investigation revealed that an individual, described as a white male, wearing a ski mask and hooded sweatshirt entered the store and went behind the counter. He then “pulled out” a handgun and pointed it at a clerk, while demanding money, according to Smith.

The man removed the cash register and fled toward a vehicle that was parked in a rear lot, according to Smith. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen and there were no reported injuries, Smith said.
