Men Caught Burglarizing Vehicles In Hamden: Police

The men were caught late Sunday night, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Two men were caught burglarizing vehicles in an apartment complex parking lot late Sunday night, according to police. At about 10:45 p.m. on April 29, Hamden Police responded to 835 Mix Avenue on the report of two men illegally entering vehicles, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said several vehicles were entered and numerous items were stolen and the suspects were seen fleeing inside of a “black hatchback type vehicle.” Moments later, Officer Gabriel Garcia located the suspects, Eric Grimes and Brian Badra, in the parking lot of 630 Mix Avenue. Smith said they were found to be in the possession of several stolen items, including a backpack, fishing pole, baseball equipment and electronic equipment. They were immediately arrested and taken to Hamden Police Headquarters.

Grimes, 25, of Mix Avenue in Hamden, and Brian Badra, 24, of Heather Road in Hamden, were both charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Grimes and Badra, who were both detained on a $3,000 bond, are scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 15.
