Menorah Lighting Set For Monday In Hamden

The lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, Dec. 3.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden will host a Menorah Lighting Gathering on Monday, Dec. 3 at 4:30 p.m. in Freedom Park, located at the corner of Whitney and Dixwell Avenues. The ceremony will be led by Rabbi Moshe Hecht of the Chabad Jewish Center in Hamden.

“Join us in this celebration of Light as we kindle the Menorah in honor of the Chanukah Holiday, which began over 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem,” town officials said in a press release. “Menorah candles are lit after dark, at sundown, symbolizing ‘illuminating the night’ and bringing light to the world.

“After the lighting, all are invited to enjoy coffee and a reception in the Senior Activity Room at The Miller Library Complex.”
