Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Accident: Hamden Police

A car and a motorcycle were involved in an accident, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A North Haven man, who was riding a motorcycle, is in critical condition after being involved in an accident with an East Haven man, Hamden Police said. At 7:50 p.m. Saturday, Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Colony Street on the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle, police said.

Investigation revealed that a motorcycle, which was operated by Eric Weinstein, 28, of North Haven, was traveling westbound on Dixwell Avenue. A vehicle, which was operated by a 54-year-old East Haven resident, proceeded onto Dixwell Avenue from a stopped position on Colony Street, police said. The vehicle was subsequently struck by the motorcycle.

Hamden Fire Rescue rendered medical assistance to Weinstein, who is listed in critical condition with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
