Nominations Sought For 2019 Orchid Award In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — The town’s Clean & Green Commission is currently accepting nominations for the 2019 Orchid Award. Each year the commission honors a business or person who has improved the physical appearance of Hamden.

“This can be accomplished through landscaping, preservation, or exceptionally environmentally-aware business practices,” according to officials. “Previous recipients have included The Hamden Plaza, Bear Path Preserve, and Friends of Brooksvale Park. The award is presented by the Mayor at the Town of Hamden Earth Day Celebration, which will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Hamden Middle School.”
