North Haven Police Charge Hamden Man with Stealing Wallet
A witness observed a man peering into vehicles near the Hamden-North Haven town line and alerted police.

North Haven Police arrested a Hamden man for allegedly stealing a wallet from a Garfield Avenue resident, according to a police press release.
Police said that on Thursday, Jan. 29, a Bayard Avenue resident reported a suspicious male peering into vehicles.
Responding units located Anthony Williams, 52, of Hamden, walking west on Skiff Street just over the Hamden town line.

Williams matched the description given to officers and a witness was able to confirm Williams was the person they saw on Bayard Avenue peering into vehicles.
Further investigation revealed Williams was in possession of a wallet from a resident on Garfield Avenue.

Williams was arrested and charged with larceny, burglary, trespassing, and illegal use of a credit card. Williams was held on a $5,000 bond.
