Obituary: Amanda L. (Boyd) Jones, 90, of Hamden

Amanda L. (Boyd) Jones, 90, of Hamden, entered into eternal life on Monday October 3, 2016. Born on November 3, 1925 in Tuskegee, AL; the beloved daughter of the late Emma Jane Harper and late Frank Smith.

The loving wife of the late Arthur L. Jones. The cherished mother of Lawrence Boyd of New Haven, Eudora Boyd of Hamden, Suynn (Richard) Davis, Stacey (Alfrazier) Wright both of Las Vegas.

Survived by 7 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren. Also survived by two special cousins Dorothy Harper and Shirley Moss, and one aunt Mary Harper. Predeceased by one son Joel Boyd.

A celebration of Amanda’s life will be held on Saturday ,October 15, 2016 in New Hope Baptist Church, 109 Butler St., New Haven at 9am. Viewing in church from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Interment will follow in the Jones family plot at Beaverdale Memorial Park.
