Obituary: Debra Esposito Consiglio, 57, of Hamden

Debbie handled hair style and make-up for local media celebrities over her 30-year career. Her true loves were her two children.

Debra Esposito Consiglio, 57, of Hamden, passed away December 8, 2016 at her home. Beloved mother of Andrew Consiglio, Jr. of East Haven and AnnMarie Consiglio of New Haven. Daughter of the late Eustachio "Tio" and Ann Hammond Esposito. Sister of Salvatore (Catherine) Esposito of New Haven and the late Vincent Esposito. She also leaves her former husband Andrew Consiglio, Sr.

Born July 22, 1959, Debbie grew up in the Morris Cove section of New Haven, a community she loved so much.

Graduating as a hair and make-up specialist from Eli Whitney RVTS, Debbie (Toni as she was known to her hair-dressing clients and colleagues) began her career with Michael's Hair Salon (East Haven). Over her 30-year career, Debbie also worked with Richard Penna Salon where she handled hair style and make-up for local media celebrities, and Glemby International-New York (Macy's) preparing runway models at the prestigious New York City Fashion Week's.

Debbie's true loves were her two children, Andrew & AnnMarie, with whom she instilled her generous and loving nature. She was the consummate "Carpool Mom" ferrying hers and many of their neighborhood children to school, soccer games, track meets, Boy Scouts events (Troop 401 in East Haven), as well as being a previous member of the Ladies Auxiliary Foxon Volunteer Fire House Company 3.

Despite many years of progressive illness later in life, Debbie continued to provide loving care & comfort to others as a Branford Hills Home Care companion, where she fostered deep, meaningful relationships with her patients, further cementing her reputation as a genuine, nurturing soul. She also leaves behind her beloved kitten "Pepper", who remained by her side through the end.

Friends may call at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven THURSDAY from 5:00-8:00 PM and are asked to go directly to St. Bernadette Church on Friday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
