Obituary: Frank Grippo, 88, of Hamden
Frank, a U.S. Army veteran, was the owner of Swiss Cleaners of Hamden for more than 30 years.

Frank Cleto Grippo, 88, of Hamden, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born on April 26, 1928, in New Haven, the son of the late Carmine and Rosalie (Pappalardo) Grippo.
The husband of Oliva (Siervo) Grippo of Hamden. Cherished father of Helen (Donald) DeFranco of Pittsburgh. Grandfather of Julian (Regina) of Chicago, Jessica DeFranco of Seattle. Also survived by one great granddaughter Emilia DeFranco of Chicago, two sisters; Trofemina Perrelli, Antoinette DiGuiseppe, and one brother Peter Grippo.

Predeceased by his first wife Marilyn (Menz) Grippo. Frank was a member of the U.S. Army and served in Korea in the late 1940s. He was a successful small business owner for nearly 50 years, most recently as the owner of Swiss Cleaners of Hamden for over 30 years.
He loved horseracing, the casinos, and was an amazing Italian cook. He and his wife Oliva enjoyed all the senior activities at their residence.

His funeral procession will leave Hamden Memorial, 1300 Dixwell Ave., on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church at 10 O’clock. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
