Obituary: Ida Sanderson, 105, of Hamden
Ida was always a high-spirited, fun-loving woman who lived life to the fullest and considered everyone she met as a friend.

Ida Ruth (Neumann) Sanderson, 105, of Hamden, entered into eternal rest at Brookdale Assisted Living in Woodbridge on Wednesday November 9, 2016.
Born on August 6, 1911 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Iva and Max Neumann. She was the loving wife of the late William Sanderson.

The cherished mother of William Sanderson of CA., and Roberta Baboian of RI. Beloved grandmother of Robert Baboian, Laurie Thibodeau, Rosann Manceca, Susan Kappas, and Jennifer Melucci.
Also survived by 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 3 nephews. Ida was predeceased by 2 sisters; Vena Wagner and Maxine Dinan, one granddaughter Susan Baboian Frost, and one nephew.

Ida and her husband Bill had a very loving relationship through the years and thoroughly enjoyed traveling on numerous occasions, including cross-country trips and trips to Hawaii, Cuba, and the Caribbean Islands.
She was a lifetime communicant, and the oldest parishioner, in Blessed Sacrament Church in Hamden, having participated in a fundraiser to build the church back in 1939.
Ida was a quality control inspector at Winchester Repeating Arms, in New Haven, during WWII and a bookkeeper for a number of firms, throughout her life until retiring in 1976. Ida was always a high-spirited, fun-loving woman who lived life to the fullest and considered everyone she met as a friend. She was also an avid line dancer for 30 years.
Her funeral procession will leave Hamden Memorial, 1300 Dixwell Ave., on Monday November 14, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 O’clock. Interment will follow in the Sanderson Family plot at Beaverdale Memorial Park. CALLING HOURS AT Hamden Memorial Sunday evening from 3-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL. 60601.
