Obituary: Joseph H. Savarese 95, of Hamden

Joseph H. Savarese 95, of Hamden formerly of North Branford beloved husband of the late Louise Furino Savarese passed away on October 20, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Loving father of Deborah Sorrentino of Hamden, Glenn (Susan) Savarese of Los Angeles, CA and Doreen (Louis) Iannotti Jr. of Durham. Grandfather of Jamie Sorrentino, Alyssa Anderson, Louis J. Iannotti and Sydney Savarese. Brother of the late Mary D'Emanuele, Grace Gambardella, Florence Parillo and Frank, George, Salvatore, John and Fred Savarese. Joe was born in New Haven on December 30, 1922 son of the late Henry and Rose DeChristopher Savarese.

Prior to his retirement Joe was an installer and floor mechanic for DellaRocco and Sons. Joe served his country faithfully in the Army during WW II.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven TUESDAY morning at 11:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church at 12:00. Interment with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call TUESDAY morning from 9:30 to 11:30.
