Obituary: Margaret Ladanyi Torello, 93, of Hamden

Margaret was active in Hamden politics and was Registrar of Voters for the Democratic Party for several years.

Margaret Ladanyi Torello, 93, of Hamden, died at her home, Sept. 6, 2016 after a long illness. She was the widow of Michael Torello. Margaret was born in New Haven, Jan. 18, 1923 the daughter of the late Charles and Sophie Nagy Ladanyi and worked at the Dept. of Social Services, in many areas for 15 years prior to retirement.

She was active in Hamden Politics and was registrar of Voters for the Democratic Party for several years.

She is survived by a daughter, Joannina "Nina" Torello of Hamden a son, James "Rusty"(Lori) Torello of No. Haven, grandsons, James (Jamie) Torello of New Haven and Jared Torello of No. Haven.

She was pre-deceased by brothers, John (Susan) Ladanyi and Charles (Faye) Ladanyi. She was aunt to many nieces and nephews, especially Susan Gnatek with whom she was extremely close.

The family would like to thank Michelle Joyner, Johnnie Green and Carrie Wicks, plus all of the wonderful Hospice nurses for all of their kindness, care and compassion. And also Michael Pomeroy & Ralph Mauriello for their physical therapy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Liberty Community Church, 540 Washington Ave., North Haven (behind Dino's) at 10 A.M. Interment private
