Obituary: Mary McGouldrick Slater, 55, of Hamden

Mary McGouldrick Slater, 55, of Hamden, loving wife of Robert D. Slater, Jr., passed away on December 30, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in West Hartford on March 24, 1963 to the late John and Beverly Seaward McGouldrick. Along with her husband, she is survived by her brother Michael McGouldrick, daughters Megan Alling and Melissa Bury, son Robert D. Slater, III (Michele), grandchildren BeverlyAnn Haynes-McGill, Hailey James Alling and Thomas Alling Jr., Joaquin and Jonovan Ayala, Madison and Barrett Bury, and Aiden and Alexander Slater. She is predeceased by her brothers John, Thomas and Edward McGouldrick.

After graduating from Hamden High School, Mary went on to work for Fleet Bank in Hamden, and then as office manager for Dr. Kaplan, DMD for over 25 years. She was a proud member of The North Haven Sons and Daughters of Italy, and the Teamster Horseman Motorcycle Association. In her free time, she loved crocheting, ceramics, and was a fantastic cook.
