Obituary: Virginia Bartiet, 81, of Hamden

Virginia, a longtime Hamden resident, worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in her earlier years where she enjoyed many lasting friendships.

Virginia Bartiet, 81, passed away quietly at her home at 95 Handy Rd. in Hamden, where she resided with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. She was surrounded by love and comfort and the promise of going home to the Lord.

Born in Milford, Virginia was a longtime resident of Hamden, a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in New Haven, and worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in her earlier years where she enjoyed many lasting friendships.

She leaves behind a sister Kathleen D'Auria of Cheshire, and four children; Joseph Bartiet of Hamden, Susan Pecoraro(Louis)of Canterbury, Pamela Bartiet of Hamden, and William Bartiet(Lisa)of Cheshire, grandchildren; Jennifer DelMedico, Kayla and Julia Bartiet, and Olivia and Alexander Pecoraro. Virginia was predeceased by her husband Gerhardt "Gerry" Bartiet, brothers David, Thomas, Stephen & Robert Gorman, and sisters, Patricia Adinolfi, and Mary-Jane Barbato.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Peter H.Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave, Hamden. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Beaverdale Mem. Park. In lieu of flowers, grateful donations may be made to: Seasons Hospice (www.seasonsfoundation.org)
