Parking Ban Issued For Hamden Milling & Paving Program

Town officials announce a parking ban will be in effect in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect for the town of Hamden beginning Monday, June 17 and will continue into July or until streets are paved as part of the 2019 Milling and Paving Program, Mayor Curt B. Leng and Public Works Director Craig Cesare announced.

Public Works will post notices on each street the day before any work is to be done. The parking ban prohibits any person to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any portion of a town street or highway which has been noticed for milling or paving work by the Public Works Dept., according to a news release.

The ban further prohibits any person to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any Town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 70.20 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle.
