1. Hamden Man, Guinness World Record Holder, Named New Coach At Albertus Magnus College (patch.com) — Hamden resident Angelo A. Rossetti, a five-time Guinness World Record holder in tennis and pickleball, has been named head women's tennis coach at Albertus Magnus College. Rossetti, a longtime racquet sports coach and former USTA Connecticut president, brings decades of experience and numerous awards, and says he's especially excited that his daughter Maddie will be among the players he'll be coaching.
   

2. Quinnipiac's donation to Hamden Public Schools keeps middle school sports funded for 2026-27 year (quchronicle.com) — Middle school sports in Hamden will continue this year thanks to Quinnipiac University's donation, even as Hamden Public Schools wrestles with a $3 million budget shortfall. The town-approved budget forced a deficit mitigation plan, staff cuts, and confusion among residents, who questioned how officials overlooked the final year of the university's three-year funding pledge.
   

3. Forest Service to close 23 research facilities in 15 states (washingtontimes.com) — Hamden is on a federal list of 23 U.S. Forest Service research facilities slated for closure, part of a cost-cutting move to trim leases and deferred maintenance. While staffing at these sites is already minimal, the decision reflects broader budget pressures and a nationwide consolidation that could still affect any remaining local research presence or partnerships in town.
   

4. Corsetti Scores First Collegiate Goal, Men's Soccer Defeated by Stony Brook (gobobcats.com) — A men's soccer match at Quinnipiac's Hamden campus saw first-year defender Giovanni Corsetti notch his first collegiate goal, but the Bobcats still fell 2–1 to visiting Stony Brook after a late winner. The game was tightly contested, with shots even and a VAR-reviewed goal deciding it as Quinnipiac wraps non-conference play before heading into league action.
