Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Hamden: Police
The pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck on Tuesday morning.

HAMDEN, CT — A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Hamden. At about 10 a.m. on May 9, Hamden Police responded to the area of Whitney Avenue and West Woods Road on the reported accident.
Moments later, Officer Paul Calamita arrived at the accident scene and immediately administered CPR on the 31-year-old victim, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. Hamden Fire Department personnel arrived and rendered medical assistance. The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, according to Smith. Smith said investigation revealed that the victim was struck by a motor vehicle that was traveling eastbound on West Woods Road. The operator of the vehicle, a Ledyard resident, will not face charges, according to Smith.
