Person Suffers Burns In Kitchen Fire In Hamden
Officials say boiling oil caught fire on a stove top.
HAMDEN, CT — One person suffered burns in a kitchen fire Tuesday in Hamden, according to fire officials.
Officials say boiling oil ignited on a stove top and burned one person at 4025 Whitney Avenue.
“The attempt to extinguish with water caused the fire to spread to the cabinets,” fire officials wrote in a post on social media. “Use rated fire extinguishers or smother grease fires, never water!”
