Police Arrest Hamden Man After Attempted Hemp Farm Heist
Two men who attempted to steal from a legal hemp farm led police on a chase that resulted in one man's hospitalization.
HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was among two would-be thieves police arrested after they attempted to steal from a legal hemp farm in Easton on Monday, Fox61 is reporting.
Police responded to a report of suspicious persons attempting to steal legally regulated hemp plants at a farm on Sport Hill Road in Easoton around 1:15 a.m.
The suspects fled the scene when police arrived, according to the report, and crashed the car on Route 59 near the exit 46 entrance/exit ramp to the Merritt Parkway. The car had been stolen out of East Haven on September 26, according to Fox61.

The passenger of the car was arrested at the scene, and taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, according to police, while the driver fled on foot. State Troopers caught up with the driver alongside the Merritt Parkway by exit 49 around two hours later.
Police charged Josue Gonzalez-Vazquez, 19, of New Haven, with third-degree larceny, engaging in pursuit, and misuse of plates among other motor vehicle charges. Jacob Castro, 19, of Hamden, was charged with third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. Both men were held on $10,000 bond.
