DOT Worker Seriously Injured After Being Hit on Rt. 15

The Wednesday crash seriously injured the worker, who was setting up a construction zone.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A state Department of Transportation worker was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday on Route 15 just north of exit 63.

The southbound crash happened in the morning. The worker was setting up for a construction zone and the right lane was marked closed. The driver of the offending vehicle drifted from the left lane into the right and struck the DOT worker.

The vehicle then continued and struck about 100 feet of wire rope along the guide rail in the right shoulder area.
