Obituary: Salvatore A. Falato 97, of Hamden
Sal proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war from 1944 to 1945.

Salvatore A. Falato 97, of Hamden, passed away Aug. 15, 2016. Husband of the late Clara DePodesta Falato. Loving father of Claire Proiette (Richard) of Gales Ferry and JoAnn Falato (David Cappella) of Hamden, brother of Adeline Foti-Jalbert of Hamden.
Also survived by his 5 cherished grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother John Falato and sisters Mary Guliano, Helen Alessio, Betty McNulty and Ida Merola.
Sal was born in New Haven, July 26, 1919 son of the late John and Adelaide Falato. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a prisoner of war from 1944 to 1945. Prior to his retirement he was a machinist for M & B Electronics.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
