Sleeping Men Arrested On Drug Charges: Hamden Police
Police say the men were in possession of drugs with the intent to sell.
HAMDEN, CT — Two men, who were found sleeping in a car, were arrested on drug charges early Saturday morning in Hamden. At about 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 17, Officer Kyle Sampognaro saw a suspicious vehicle parked on Goodrich Street and found two men sleeping inside, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said the investigation led to a search of the vehicle where police found a bag containing 2.4 grams of crack cocaine. A further search led to the discovery of 95 empty plastic bags, according to Smith.
Daiquan Hyman, 19, of Welton Street in Hamden, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, no insurance, misuse of plates, operating without a license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Hyman, who was detained on a $25,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 29.

Police also arrested a 17-year-old New Haven resident, whose name wasn’t released because of his age. He was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Nov. 29.
