Stolen Hamden Gun Results in Plea

Police in Hamden apprehended him after a crash.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 19-year-old city man pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen gun.

Michael Baldwin was arrested by Hamden Police April 10, 2016 when he and others fled police in a stolen vehicle, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

Baldwin fled on foot when the driver crashed the vehicle. Police found crack cocaine and a Springfield Armory XD .40 caliber handgun discarded near the vehicle.

The gun was reported stolen from Hamden.

Baldwin faces up to 10 years in prison.
