Suspects Ditch Stolen Car, Flee From Police on Foot: Hamden PD

Hamden Police are continuing to investigate and asking for the public's assistance with the case.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are looking for two suspects who ditched a stolen car and fled on foot on Thursday night.

Officer Rachel Zinni observed a stolen motor vehicle traveling on Whitney Avenue, in the vicinity of Putnam Avenue at about 10 p.m. on Sept. 8, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Zinni attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop but the operator refused to stop, Smith said.

The stolen vehicle eventually stopped in the area of Newhall Street and Read Street in New Haven. Smith said two individuals were seen fleeing on foot from the vehicle.

Hamden Police, including K-9 units, searched the area but were unsuccessful in locating the individuals, according to Smith.

Smith said the vehicle was stolen from a Mather Street residence on Sept. 7. The Hamden Police Department Crime Scene Unit is assisting in the investigation.
