HAMDEN, CT — An 18-year-old Hamden resident is accused of injuring three police officers and a 10-month-old baby during an incident at a laundromat earlier this week. Police responded to Campus Laundry, located at 16 Fairview Avenue in Hamden, at about 6 p.m. on April 1, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that a 36-year-old Hamden resident was “doing laundry” in the presence of her small children. She told police that Xavier Brathwaite began swearing in front of her children. Brathwaite is accused of pushing a metal cart that the woman’s 10-month-old child was in, according to Smith.

The child fell from the cart and “hit her head,” Smith said. Hamden Fire Rescue responded and provided medical treatment to the child.
