Teen Charged with Stealing Vehicle in Hamden: Police
The 17-year-old was arrested following an extensive investigation, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden teen has been arrested for his role in stealing a vehicle from a Mather Street residence in September, according to police.
On Sept. 8, Officer Rachel Zinni attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a stolen vehicle in the area of Whitney Avenue and Putnam Avenue. The vehicle was stolen the previous day from a Mather Street address, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said the vehicle eventually stopped in the area of Newhall Street and Read Street. Two occupants subsequently fled from the vehicle on foot into New Haven.

Zinni conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for a 17-year-old juvenile. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On Dec. 19, Hamden Police arrested the juvenile, who resides in town. He was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Jan. 3, 2017.
