Teen Robbed Of Gold Chain In Broad Daylight: Hamden Police
Police say the suspect threatened to shoot the teen and then ripped the gold chain off his neck in a street robbery Tuesday afternoon.
HAMDEN, CT — A 16-year-old Hamden resident was robbed of his gold chain while walking in the area of Circular Avenue and Piper Road on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The robbery occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 while the teen was walking on the sidewalk near Circular Avenue. The victim was approached by a man who demanded his gold chain, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said the teen initially resisted and the suspect then threatened to shoot him. He subsequently “ripped” the chain off the teen’s neck, according to Smith.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, with a thin build, who was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with a white rectangular design. The suspect was last seen entering the passenger seat of a dark blue, 4 door sedan, with New York registration plates. The vehicle was last seen traveling on Valley Road, according to Smith.
