Teen Robbed, Kidnapped While Meeting ‘Prostitute’ In Hamden: PD

The teen thought he was meeting up with a prostitute but ended up getting robbed and kidnapped instead.

HAMDEN, CT — A 19-year-old New Haven resident who thought he was meeting up with a prostitute in Hamden ended up getting robbed and kidnapped instead, according to police. The victim went to Hamden Police Headquarters on Oct. 7 to report a robbery.

The teen told police that at about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 5, he was scheduled to meet with a “prostitute” on State Street, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. He was approached by two men when he arrived on State Street.

The men told him that they were in the possession of a firearm, while rummaging through his pockets and stole $140, according to Smith. To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Smith said the two men then “forced” the teen into the backseat of his vehicle. One of the suspects drove the victim’s vehicle, while the other sat with the victim in the backseat. They then drove to several ATMs and removed an additional $600 from the victim’s bank accounts, according to Smith. They then drove to a residence in New Haven where the victim was released.

Subject #1 – black male, 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a slim build, beard and mustache

Subject #2 – black male, 5-6 with a slim build, beard and mustache
