Teens Stole $8K in Jewelry, Electronics from Hamden Home: Police

The two Hamden residents, ages 16 and 17, were arrested on a warrant in connection to a recent home burglary.

HAMDEN, CT — Two Hamden teens have been charged with burglarizing a home and stealing more than $8,000 worth of items, according to police.

On Nov. 29, Hamden Police responded to a Quentin Street address on the report of a forcible residential burglary.

Capt. Ronald Smith said investigation revealed that entry was gained by forcibly opening a side door. Once inside, several items were stolen, including electronic equipment and jewelry that was valued at more than $8,000, according to Smith.

Detective Joseph Liguori conducted an investigation and determined that two juveniles were responsible for the burglary.

On Dec. 19, the two Hamden residents, ages 16 and 17, turned themselves in on an arrest warrant. They were both charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.

They are scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Jan. 5, 2017.
