Vehicle Crashes Into House In Hamden: Police

The vehicle crashed into a tree before the impact sent it into the house, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a tree and then into a house in Hamden on Tuesday morning, according to police. At about 8:30 a.m. on May 15, Hamden Police responded to the area of Pine Rock Avenue and Blacy Street on the report of a motor vehicle accident, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling southbound on Pine Rock Avenue and failed to “negotiate” a curve in the roadway. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a tree and the impact sent the vehicle into a house, according to Smith.

The operator was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for “assessment,” Smith said. The Town of Hamden Building Inspector responded to assess the structural damage to the house.
