Vehicle Stolen, Several Others Burglarized Overnight: Hamden PD
Police say one vehicle was stolen and several others were 'forcibly entered' during the overnight hours in Hamden.
HAMDEN, CT — One vehicle was stolen, several vehicles were “forcibly entered” and numerous items were stolen during the overnight hours Monday in Hamden, according to police. Hamden Police responded to the area of Worth Avenue and Centerbrook Road on Feb. 25 on the report of numerous thefts from motor vehicles, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that at least four vehicles were forcibly entered and that one vehicle was stolen. Numerous items were stolen, including money and jewelry, according to Smith. A witness told police that “5 to 7 individuals” were seen attempting to enter vehicles at approximately 3:30a.m., Smith said.
“Hamden Police would like to advise residents to take several precautions,” Smith said. “Vehicles should be parked in an area that is illuminated. Vehicles should be locked at all times. It is extremely important to remove all valuables from inside of the vehicle, including small change. Residents are encouraged to contact the Hamden Police Department at (203) 230-4000 whenever suspicious activity is observed.”
