Victim Pistol-Whipped In Parking Lot: Hamden Police

Police say the victim was struck on the top of the head with a gun after he "brushed shoulders" with a man in a parking lot.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating after a 32-year-old man was pistol-whipped by another man in a parking lot late Tuesday night in Hamden. At about 11 p.m. on May 21, police responded to a parking lot in the 600 block of Fitch Street on the report of an assault with a firearm, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that a 32-year-old Hamden resident got out of his parked motor vehicle and “brushed shoulders” with another man while he was returning to his residence. The man subsequently struck him on the top of the head with a gun and then pointed the gun at victim, according to Smith.

The victim sustained a head laceration and refused medical treatment, Smith said.

The suspect was described as a black male, 40 to 50 years of age, 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a medium build with thick-framed eyeglasses and was wearing a sweatshirt and shorts.
