Woman, 90, Robbed Of Purse At Grocery Store: Hamden Police
Police say the 90-year-old victim had withdrawn a 'substantial amount of money' and her purse was stolen as she walked into a grocery store.

HAMDEN, CT — A 90-year-old woman was robbed of her purse after she had withdrawn a “substantial amount” of money Monday morning in Hamden. The robbery occurred at about 10 a.m. on Feb. 4 at the Whitneyville Food Center, located at 1248 Whitney Ave., according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said that victim had withdrawn a substantial amount of money from the nearby bank and her purse was stolen as she entered the front door of Whitneyville Food Center. The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, 30 years of age, small in stature with a medium build, according to Smith.
