Woman Carjacked After Giving Ride To Women In Need: Hamden Police
Police say the victim stopped after seeing the women trying to flag cars down. They asked for a ride home and later carjacked the victim.
HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating after a woman was carjacked by two women that she had given a ride to after they asked for help Wednesday afternoon in Hamden.
The 56-year-old Hamden resident told police that she saw two women “attempting to flag cars down” in the area of Mather Street and Servoss Street at about 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. The victim stopped her vehicle and asked the women if they needed help. The women asked the victim for a ride home, according to Smith.
The victim drove the women to a Rogers Road residence. One of the women got out of the vehicle while the second woman remained seated and then grabbed the victim by the neck and restrained her, according to Smith. Both women then “pulled the victim out of the vehicle” and drove away, Smith said. The victim wasn’t injured, according to Smith.
