Woman Robbed Of Purse At Gunpoint: Hamden Police

The gunman approached the woman as she was getting into her vehicle with her 4-year-old daughter, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint while she was getting into her vehicle with her 4-year-old daughter Wednesday morning in Hamden, according to police.

The robbery happened around 9:30 a.m. on Waite Street, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the homeowner and her 4-year-old daughter were getting into their vehicle when they were approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse.

She initially refused, but turned the purse over to him after he demanded it again, according to Smith. He then got into a full-sized sedan and left heading west on Waite Street.

The robber was described as a black man, 25 years old, who was wearing a dark-colored ski mask.
