Woman Stole Neighbor’s Gun, Debit Card During Visit: Hamden PD

Police recovered the stolen gun after it was thrown from a vehicle during a pursuit on Route 15 last week, according to officials.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden woman is accused of stealing her neighbor’s gun and debit card during a visit last month, according to police.

The theft was reported Dec. 23, 2020 from a home on Butler Street, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Officer Derick Manning conducted an investigation that found Jamisha Davis stole her neighbor’s gun and debit card while visiting, according to Smith.

Smith said police recovered the stolen gun during last week’s arrest of Shavon Bethea-Lafrazier. The gun was thrown from Bethea-Lafrazier’s vehicle on Route 15 while he was trying to get away from police after an incident at Walmart.

Davis, 40, of Butler Street, was arrested Jan. 23 on a warrant and charged with theft of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and carrying a pistol without a permit. Davis was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and is due in court April 19.
