2018 Community Excellence & Nonprofit Award Honorees

Notable Individuals and organizations honored for contributions to the community

Hartford, Conn. (November 14, 2018) – Notable individuals and organizations from Greater Hartford were honored this morning for their contributions to the community. Among those recognized were businesses and individuals who have supported nonprofit organizations, as well as nonprofits who have made a significant impact on the communities they serve.

“Nonprofits play a vital role in strengthening our communities,” Chris Santilli, publisher, Hartford Business Journal, said. “We are pleased to recognize these outstanding nonprofits in our community, as well as the businesses and individuals who are helping them to maximize their impact.”

  • Corporate Citizenship Award: The Simon Konover Company
  • Corporate Volunteer of the Year: Susan Lane, Senior Leader of Strategic Partnerships, Hoffman Auto Group
  • Next Generation Leadership: Tatiana Paredes, President, Prospanica Connecticut and Supplier Diversity Analyst, Stanley Black and Decker, Inc.
  • Partnership Award: Aetna, The Hartford, Travelers, City of Hartford and Hartford Public Library
  • Non-Profit Organization of the Year: ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut
  • Non-Profit Collaboration of the Year: Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness
  • Non-Profit Executive of the Year: Steve Collins, Executive Director, Hartford Symphony Orchestra

Attendees were recognized at a breakfast celebration at Infinity Hall in Hartford. The event featured a panel discussion moderated by Mayor Luke Bronin. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care served as the Presenting Sponsor for the event while Express Strategies and Comcast Business served as event sponsors.
