“This spring season explores the richness of ballet tradition in dramatic stories like Giselle and in my new ballet titled, Ode for St. Cecilia, which is set to a gorgeous composition by George Fridrich Handel,” said Claire Kretzschmar, former New York City Ballet Soloist and Ballet Hartford's Artistic Director. “I'm also happy to share that we've added performances due to our increasing audience and high demand, so be sure to book your tickets early! In our programming, there is always something for every age and interest to enjoy.”
“Each season has increasingly brought tremendous growth for our organization - most visibly in the programming we enthusiastically provide for our audiences," shares Ballet Hartford's Executive Director, Leyna Doran. "This Spring Season does so exquisitely; Claire's inspiration and artistic ingenuity will once again delight audiences from all over."
Ballet Hartford's Encore Campaign, which aims to raise $225,000 in three years, has already reached 69% of its first-year goal. The campaign is designed to: help close the gap between the revenue that ticket sales provide and the total cost of pursuing artistic excellence; provide access to quality costumes and props; offer dancers a pointe shoe stipend; and support operational costs and job growth.
