Bloomfield Man Charged in Vernon Drug Sting
A man sold drugs to undercover officers, police said.

VERNON, CT — A suspected drug dealer was caught in a sting near the Route 30 Cumberland Farms on Monday afternoon, police said.
The sting was conducted by Vernon police and members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force.
The seller, 35-year-old Rachad Gill, of Bloomfield, sold heroin to an officer, police said. He also had crack cocaine residue on him, police said.

As part of the sting, he was charged with the sale of narcotics and possessing a controlled substance, police said.
Gill also had three outstanding warrants for drug-related activity, police said. On two of them, he was charged with the sale and possession of narcotics and selling and possessing narcotics near a school or day care, police said.

On the third warrant, he was charged with conspiring to sell narcotics and conspiring to sell them near a school or day care, along with possessing a controlled substance and possessing it near a school or day care, police said.
The driver of the car he was in, Cassandrah Gagnon, 30, of Manchester, was charged with possessing a controlled substance, police said.
