Christmas Movie Filmed In CT Airs On TV This Weekend

A Christmas movie that will air on Lifetime this week was shot in Connecticut.

HARTFORD, CT — Pratt Street got into the spirit a little early this year. The Lifetime movie "Rediscovering Christmas" was shot in Hartford during the month of September and it will air at 8 p.m. on Dec. 15 on Lifetime, according to FOX 61.

Streets and sidewalks were dusted with snow and done up with Christmas decorations for the filming.

Here's what the Lifetime website says about the movie's plot: "Mia is a window dresser in a big city department store, living and breathing Christmas for months to get the store ready for the holidays. But now that the season is actually near, all she wants is a tropical beach getaway with her sister Sara. However, plans change when Sara begs for Mia's help putting on the annual Snowflake festival in their home town in Vermont. Just when she thought she was out - Santa pulls her back in!"

A number of Christmas movies have been shot in Connecticut recently. Earlier this year, the streets of Wethersfield were transformed into the holiday spirit. "Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane" was filmed last year in Wethersfield as well and debuted in November. The movie was based on a novel by Mary Elizabeth McDonough and starred actress Alicia Witt.

Connecticut seems to be one of Hallmark's favorite filming locations, too. Movies have filmed in Old Lyme and North Haven. Melissa Joan Hart also filmed a Christmas movie in Mystic.
