A Delicious Delivery for Connecticut Girl Scouts on March 26

It’s a sweet treat for Connecticut as Girl Scout Cookies arrive on March 26 & 27! A caravan of trucks filled with hundreds of thousands of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies will drop off their delectable cargo at locations across the state, where eager Girl Scouts of Connecticut volunteers and staff will load up minivans, trucks, and cars with cases for troops to deliver to customers.

“There is always a spirit of collaboration and excitement on cookie delivery day,” said Diana Mahoney, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Connecticut (GSOFCT). “It’s truly awe-inspiring to watch as lines of cars roll through their designated drive-thru delivery site and are quickly filled with their troops’ orders by highly efficient, cheerful volunteers.”

Mahoney notes that as a result of an unexpected delay in production due to the pandemic and supply challenges by Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s bakery, Little Brownie Bakers (LBB), the organization has had to overcome many logistical challenges this year to ensure a successful cookie program – including delaying the council’s cookie distribution. As a result, Cookie Booth Sales will begin a little a later this spring on March 26 and continue until May 8, 2022. But good things come to those who wait! Be the first to try this year’s new cookie, Adventurefuls™, a decadent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt. Adventurefuls joins iconic favorites such as Thin Mints®, Samoas®, Tagalongs®, Do-si-dos®, Trefoils®, Lemon-Ups®, Girl Scout S’mores®, and gluten-free Toffee-tastic®.

Most booth sales will also offer customers the opportunity to purchase cookies through Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s Gift of Caring program, Cookies for Heroes. Cookies for Heroes give customers the opportunity to donate boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to service women and men overseas and at home, as well as local community heroes.

Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program®, girls not only discover their inner leadership potential but also use their earnings to power amazing experiences for themselves and their troop, including travel, outdoor adventure, and STEM programming. Last year, Girl Scouts troops in Connecticut earned more than $1.4 million in cookie proceeds. Many girls put the money toward impactful community projects right in their own backyards, from supporting animal shelters and food banks to working with local and state legislators to change laws.
